As a computer teacher, Poonam took a special interest in aiding dyslexic and other differently-abled children. She has been counseling students as well as their parents as an expert in managing their studies, careers and emotional quotients. Poonam also took part in several social activities of organizations working for the welfare of thalassemic children and cancer patients. Also, she had organized blood donation camps and has been teaching computers to blind children ever since. After forgoing her excellent career, she followed her dreams to devote her full time and energy for this noble cause. Today, she is the moving force behind nurturing the goals that form the base of SETU's foundation.
An alumni of IIM, Ahmedabad and Defence Services Staff College, Wellington (TN), Satish joined NDA, Khadakwasla in early seventies having opted out of IIT, Kanpur. He served in the Indian Army for more than three decades on various instructional, staff, operational and command appointments. During this period, he founded a new training institute in Kashmir for the Army and authored a book (The Fourth Estate) on Media's Role during Kargil war besides documenting Kargil's official history. He has been a Research Fellow of United Service Institute of India and Research Associate of Centre of Contemporary Conflict, Monterey, California, USA. Recently, on an inner urge, he decided to rededicate himself and use his wealth of experience to this social cause and endeavor to make a difference in others lives.
After completeing his engineering from Netaji Subhash Institute of Technology, Delhi, Anshuman gained two years of experience in the corporate world. Thereafter, he pursued his MBA from Vinod Gupta School of Management, IIT-Kharagpur. He is the mainstay of technical and financial management of the organization and his active involvement has been very crucial in achieving the current status that SETU presently enjoys.
Pallavi is a Mechanical engineer who completed her engineering from Army Institue of Technology, Pune. She went on to pursue her Masters in Automotive Engineering from Germany and specialized in Automotive design. She turned down offers to work in Germany and instead, has returned to her roots to use her vast knowledge to make a difference here. Her commitment to the social cause, that SETU stands for, is unflinching.
Shailvi is a Computer Science engineer from Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago and is currently working in the IT industry in USA. Despite her young age and preoccupation there, she has been actively involved in promoting and supporting this cause and extending our outreach to people in America. She sensitizes her environment with the issues relating to SETU.
Govind leads product management in the guest vertical at Turo, a car sharing marketplace in San Francisco. Govind earned his dual-degrees in Electrical and Computer engineering from Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago, USA. He contributes to the mission of Setu by volunteering as a math tutor helping teenagers struggling with the subject.
